The Recording Office of the Mobile County Probate Court is located on the first floor of the Mobile County Courthouse near the corner of Government and Claiborne Streets (304 Government Street) in downtown Mobile, Alabama. Recording windows are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Checks on local banks, money orders and cash are accepted forms of payment. Credit cards are not accepted by the Court. Alabama law does not allow the Probate Court to accept electronically transmitted documents for recording or filing. Documents presented for recording will be returned within one week of being placed on record. By going to "Records Search" at this site, documents recorded since January 4th, 2001, may be viewed immediately upon their being entered into the Probate Court's record.
